This is an apology to you and to me, for wasting both of our time.
Neither of us got what we were looking for.
Sorry About That is a diary - five years spent coming to terms with my father’s disappearance and a childhood spent living in the wake of his criminal activities.
I wanted to talk about it openly for the first time, but I didn’t know how. With photography I’d have something to show for my time, and difficult questions could wait until later. Or maybe never.
Needless to say, it didn’t quite work out how I planned. I wasn’t after much, just a handful of images that I could hide behind. Instant salvation from imaginary humiliation.
